Happy Holidays!!

Seems like such a PC title right? Well, Merry belated Christmas seems soo sad because I could just backdate this to say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year seems too early, so there you go. Happy Holidays!!

I have nothing really important to say but lots of fun have happened!!!

The Blizzard of the Decade I've been dreaming of happened last week. Sad it happened when it did though because I was trapped by myself. I had Max, but he's not a lot of help in building large snow structures, sledding or snow ball fights. It was amusing watching him go on his walk and trying to figure out where to go when all the snow mounds were taller than him. The Blizzard postponed Friendmas and I had to work on the rescheduled date, so missed out on that. Next Year!

Christmas happened without much drama. It was a pretty crazy day. Worked the overnight at XM watching Santa do his thing across the globe. Got off at 7 and went to drop off presents in Sterling, then went to hang with ELSE and have a quick breakfast. Then I stole the kid and drove over to have Christmas lunch in Springfield. That was fun and always a good time hanging with the family. Back to work I went after that. Worked till Midnight and home to sleep. I had 2 1 hour naps in there, but it was a pretty solid 37 hour day.

The rest of the weekend was pretty lazy. Work and sleep. Lazy for me. :-)

SNOW!!!!!

My wish has come true!! A blizzard in DC!!

Too bad it happened when I was dog sitting in Sterling. It was just me and Max. He wasn't too happy about it and honestly neither was I. I was suppose to be at work Saturday night and Friendmas on Sunday night. Both of those won't happen. My managers luckily asked the guy who worked Friday night to stay at the hotel in case I didn't make it in and it was a good idea because I would have had to leave at noon to make it there by 6. Now I have to work Sunday night, so I won't make Friendmas if it happens. :-(

Unintended Christmas Greeting...

I have lived in my place in Crofton for over 3 years now. We still get mail for the people that lived here before us. Nothing too important usually, mostly random magazines or junk mail from for out of date mailing lists. During the Holidays, we get a few more than normal but nothing ever worth forwarding or reading.

Over the weekend they got a Christmas Card and we opened it. I've done this before and gotten the normal generic, "Happy Holidays. Love Billy Bob and Mary Sue" messages. This one though was by far the best I have ever seen in all my years of opening other people's mail.

and it came with a picture!

It was the saddest story we have ever seen and wondered why they spent money on cards and stamps when they should be working on heat in the house. My roommate being the generous person she is sent them a card back from us with some $$ we've been fighting over [she won't take it for paying for my groceries] and 2 lottery tickets. She's nice and crazy [very crazy and she calls me the sucker].

SNOW!!!!

It's just the beginning of December and we've had our first real snow storm.

Though I think my parents live in some strange anomaly of weather. They got somewhere between 4 and 5 inches of snow, but when I got to work, there was not a flake. It was all wet or not even wet on the ground with no sign of it having ever snowed. It totally freaked me out.

The best part of the snow was we made the best snowman we have ever made in all the years we've had snow. Maybe it was the excitement of it with my niece or the snow was just that perfect consistency but Snowman Mao was perfect.
