cake and ice cream...

YEAH!!! cake and ice cream for fun b-day festivities....tooo tired and need more sleep...I know...no more blogging, go to bed, but working on trying to solve internet for famous redskins' company...more on that later...thinking about selling my house and moving to Alaska...speculating the isolation might do me some good...real work is getting a little annoying...usually gets better in the summer with the shorter commute, but this week has been pushing me to my limit...Monkeying work is still fun plus I had cake and ice cream tonight (at home not monkeying, but if we had that, I would leave real work for monkeying)...we'll try again tomorrow...no violence yet...that's just the motto for the first 2 hours...

I told my sister I would start updating more...I can't write fun interesting stuff like she does because all I do is work, eat and sleep and I'm not good at making up stories about my family (some of the stories are really, you just have to know which ones...)...anyway, yesterday's news is I have a new show that I'm obsessed with, but the show is over now, so I just have the DVDs and the upcoming movie...Go watch Firefly if you haven't...it's got a fun catchy theme-song...I miss the days of theme songs...I didn't get to watch a lot of tv when I was little, so I learned a lot about TV from reading about it in the TV Guide and sometimes watching commercials so I learned theme songs from the commercials of others shows, so without ever having to watch them, I knew the theme song and the characters of almost every show made since the 80s...in college I had a nostalgic moment and bought a complete collection of thems songs from Sam Goody and sadly I could name pretty much 85% of the songs since the 60s...sad right? or is it genius?? such a fine line...

Why I don't metro...

Red Line Returns to Normal Service; Metro Expects Some Back-Up After Body Found on Tracks

"Farbstein said a Metro track supervisor discovered the body of the deceased man at 3:22 a.m. "Preliminary investigation seems to show he was hit by a train," Farbstein said. She said that apparently nobody noticed that the man had been struck at the time of impact. The body was found about a half mile north of the Silver Spring station."

This is the second time THIS WEEK that somebody has been hit by a train...I know, it's not necessarily Metro's fault and driving in my car is just as dangerous, but they need some PR help...they had the very nice Post profile last week about their faulty systems and then the "near miss" at Foggy Bottom last week, now this??? All coincidence or a bad system falling apart beyond help???

Blog, Blog, Blog, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH

Yes, you're all expecting a Michael Jackson rant, but I just don't have it in me today...I would never have guessed in a million years that he would get off on all 10 counts, but he did and that's the American Justice system at work, for better or worse...

Off to a more important subject...BLOGS...it has become the catch word of the year...everything is blog this, blog that... we should get a blog for this, we should find a blog for that... ever think that every good thing that started with good intention gets ruined by the media or overzealous communications/PR people? I know, I work for a PR company, I shouldn't be talking smack about the people who keep me employed, but you know what, I've gotten a little fed up with people thinking that a blog will be the greatest thing since well, ice cream...

as much as it looks like sometimes, but the American people are not stupid...if you try to use something that is suppose to be homegrown and put a pr spin on it, people aren't going to buy it...it may look like there is no skill to my random ranting, but ... ok, there isn't any skill to my random ranting, but I also don't attract 1000s of visitors a day either... I rant b/c I'm angry about things in the world and it keeps my friends and family entertained...yes, I should rant more, but I'm busy...very busy... ;-)

so, no, starting a blog isn't going to help your campaign...it isn't going to draw any more attention to your website... it's substance that draws people to it... substance equals work which equals money...no short cuts to buying the love of Americans...ok...done...sorry...I like blogs, I read lots of them b/c they entertain me or inform me...mostly entertain, but it really bothers me when people try to catch onto a bandwagon with no idea why they're catching on just that they need to catch on before it's too late....HURRY HURRY HURRY...BLOG BLOG BLOG...BLAH BLAH BLAH...
